The apartment house lies on a hill, 550 metres above sea level, at the heart of the Gallura region, 20 minutes from the sea and 5km from Tempio Pausania. It is an old manor house with a view of one of Sardinia’s most beautiful landscapes. It belongs to the locality of Aggius, which is famous for its craggy granite formations in the Valle della Luna. Here there is still a vibrant tradition of weaving carpets and wall tapestries.

A careful restoration has converted the house into comfortable holiday accommodation, restoring it back to its former splendour, with unplastered walls of local granite and fireplaces. Each room and apartment features a stylish interior with furniture from the late nineteenth century, either Jugendstil or traditional Sardinian handcrafted pieces. The romantic and serene atmosphere is combined with cordial hospitality, making the house the ideal place to spend a holiday. Here one can relax, as well as explore the fascinating natural and cultural landscape. The historic residential house offers four fully-furnished apartments of different sizes, as well as single rooms with their own bathroom. All the accommodation units provide bedlinen, towels and kitchen appliances.

Discover the special taste of Sardinia: on arrival all our guests receive a culinary welcome basket, containing a small selection of coffee, tea, herbal teas, sugar, milk, mineral water, traditional bakery items and homemade jam. Guests staying in the apartments can also pre-order additional gastronomic options (see supplementary charges: “A well-stocked fridge”). On arrival you will find a basket with typical Sardinian specialities and wines (for at least 2 people). The “basket” contains: the typical local bread (carasau), a bottle each of red and white wine (Gallura D.O.C.), myrtle liqueur, olive oil, honey, cheese and salami from the region, olives, vegetables, fresh fruit, traditional bakery items. We also provide guests with information materials (sights, trip destinations, hiking trails, gastronomic options, events calendar etc).

Trip options

The apartment house is in an ideal location for getting to the most beautiful and famous places in the north of Sardinia. Within an hour, you can reach e.g. the La Maddalena group of islands, the Costa Smeralda, the villages of Santa Teresa di Gallura and Castelsardo. Corsica and Bonifacio are also possible trip destinations and are about two hours away. Aggius itself is very small and lies 500 metres above sea level. This location ensures a pleasant climate in the evenings, after you have enjoyed a day of sun and sea. The village consists of old houses built of granite, nestled into a landscape of oak trees and cliffs with different formations. The apartment house is conveniently located, neighbouring the small village centre with its shops (supermarket, pharmacy, bank), while overlooking the large garden and the valley on the other side. Nearby there are also a beautiful outdoor pool and tennis courts. Since 2005, Aggius belongs to the group of municipalities awarded the Orange Flag, a quality certification by the Italian Touring Club. This is awarded to inland localities committed to the preservation of culture and the environment, and to the sustainable use of resources and typical regional products. Since 2009, Aggius also belongs to the “Borghi Autentici d’Italia” association (“Authentic Italian Villages”).
