Summary: Very disappointing stay, mainly due to poor communication and customer service. We booked a room for three, but on arrival it had only been prepared for two. When we raised this, the receptionist was dismissive and suggested it was because we booked through a 3rd party website. However, our receipt clearly shows that we paid the additional fee for the third guest, including a bed for them. We were told we should have contacted the hotel beforehand to confirm the arrangements. We had actually tried several times to call, but nobody answered. We also emailed the hotel directly a full week before our stay and received no response. So this was not simply a third-party booking issue — we had actively tried to resolve it with the hotel in advance and were ignored. By chance, we found a sofa bed in the room and had to make it up ourselves. Bedding was provided when requested, which I appreciate, but we were told nothing else could be done as there was no housekeeping available. At checkout, the same receptionist challenged the factual mid-stay review, saying she disagreed with it because she had done her best. She also said it wasn't her fault our email hadn't been answered because she wasn't on reception that day. We weren't blaming her personally, but her attitude towards negative feedback was terrible. Mistakes happen, but how they are handled matters. Unfortunately, the communication, room preparation and customer service fell well below expectations. We will not be returning.
