Welcome to our “Bergstation” apartment at Eibsee 4 Apartments in Grainau!
If you are looking for a spacious and special place to stay for your holiday in the mountains, you have come to the right place.
The “Bergstation” is one of two apartments in our Künstlerhaus and offers around 145 m² across two floors, giving you plenty of space to enjoy your holiday with family or friends.A stairlift is available to make access to the accommodation easier.
Our house is centrally located in Grainau and combines Bavarian tradition, exceptional craftsmanship and modern comfort. The history of the house can still be felt today and gives the Bergstation its unique character.
A house with history
The Künstlerhaus is located in the historic centre of Grainau, right by the lower village square. Grainau was first mentioned as Gruenawe – meaning “green meadow” – as early as 1305. Today, Grainau is a popular holiday destination at the foot of the Zugspitze, while still retaining its traditional village character.
Along Eibseestraße and in the surrounding area, numerous historic buildings and traditional forms of Werdenfelser craftsmanship have been preserved.
Our house is also shaped by this heritage. The Bergstation reflects the artistic legacy of a local woodcarver.
Elaborately carved doors and door frames, decorative rosettes, ornate wooden ceilings, furniture and many other handcrafted details give the rooms their distinctive character.
These lovingly preserved works are more than just decorative features – they tell a story of Bavarian heritage and give the “Bergstation” its very own character.
Here, traditional Bavarian craftsmanship meets spacious, modern living.

With around 145 m² across two floors, the “Bergstation” offers plenty of space to arrive, relax and spend time together.
The generous layout is particularly well suited to families and groups who enjoy spending time together while also having enough space to themselves.
One of the highlights is the balconies surrounding the apartment, offering views of the Zugspitze and the surrounding mountains. Enjoy your morning coffee, breathe in the fresh mountain air or simply unwind after an eventful day.
The large rooftop terrace offers even more outdoor space. It is the perfect place for breakfast, relaxing after a day in the mountains or enjoying a cosy evening with family and friends.
Arrive and feel at home
Even during a longer stay, we want you to have everything you need. The “Bergstation” features a fully equipped kitchen with everything you need for your holiday.
This includes a hob and oven, dishwasher, fridge with freezer compartment, coffee machine, kettle, crockery and kitchen utensils.
This means you can enjoy your holiday exactly as you like – have breakfast together, prepare your own meal after a day in the mountains or simply relax in your apartment in the evening.
Central in Grainau – peaceful and surrounded by nature
Our house is centrally located yet peaceful in Grainau. Many everyday amenities can be reached conveniently on foot.
The region’s highlights are also close by: Lake Eibsee, Lake Badersee and the Zugspitze are all within easy reach. At the same time, Grainau is an ideal starting point for hiking, cycling and winter sports.
The bus stop is located directly in front of the house, making it easy to explore the surrounding area comfortably without a car.
Another advantage of our location is that Garmisch-Partenkirchen is only a few kilometres away and can be reached quickly. There you will find numerous restaurants, cafés, shops and leisure activities.
This means you can enjoy the peace and traditional character of Grainau while still being close to everything Garmisch-Partenkirchen has to offer.
Between Lake Eibsee and the Zugspitze
Our location is especially defined by its proximity to Lake Eibsee. The crystal-clear mountain lake, wooded shores and impressive mountain panorama make it a special destination in the region.
Just a few kilometres away rises the Zugspitze, Germany’s highest mountain.
Whether you enjoy hiking, mountaineering, cycling, skiing or simply spending time in nature – there is plenty to discover around Grainau throughout the year.
Practical for your stay
A dedicated ski and bike storage area is available for your ski and cycling equipment.
A free outdoor parking space is also available. If you prefer to park your vehicle in a sheltered space, you can also rent a garage from us for an additional fee.
If you are travelling with a baby or toddler, we are happy to provide a baby cot and high chair free of charge on request.
Your four-legged companions are also welcome on request and for an additional fee. Please contact us before booking.
