Summary: Pros: We had 2 breakfasts and 2 dinners while staying. We mostly had the Japanese omakase, which were lovely and delicious. Both dinners had a cooking option - 1 hotpot and 1 grilling. There were 3 options of private onsen for 2 50-minute slots/day, and if there were openings, you could sign up for an additional. We appreciated we could go as a family together. The outdoor spaces were perfect. It was fun wearing the yukata, and they gave our kid a sweet little welcome package. Cons: The onsens didn't have any options for cold plunge - the closest were low pressure cold shower. The 1 onsen with the sauna closet option was turned off between sessions so even though we turned it on when we got there, it didn't really get warm enough to be a sauna by the time the 50 min were over. In our room, the beds were laid out on the tatami when we arrived, but we had expected fold up / turn down service, which we didn't get at any point during our 2 night stay, even when we left our room key for the day. Note that while there are options walking distance away, the roads are twisty and have hedges, and cars seem to be prevalent so it was safer for us to get taxis in the end, esp when raining. Overall, it was pleasant and a good option if you don't have much time in Japan to experience these things. For us, it ended up being pretty expensive for what it was, considering we'd had other omakase, onsen, and stayed in tatami mat rooms elsewhere during our trip for much much cheaper.
